The Tiger Trout is a river fish found in Fall and Winter. Because of its dart-like movement, the Tiger Trout can be a hard fish to catch. Here's everything you need to know about finding and catching Tiger Trout in Stardew Valley.

Catching Tiger Trout in Stardew Valley

You can catch a Tiger Trout in any river between 6 AM and 7 PM in Fall and Winter. Make sure to equip a Bamboo Pole or better to catch this difficult fish. You'll need it for the Community Center and quests.

Tiger Trout can be found in rivers from 6 AM to 7 PM in Fall and Winter. This includes rivers found in Pelican Town, the Cindersap Forest, Riverlands Farms, Forest Farms, Meadowlands Farms, and Hill-Top Farms. The Tiger Trout has a dart-like movement, so be prepared to move your fishing bar to match its erratic pace.^{[1]

- Keep in mind that you must use a rod other than the Training Rod; otherwise, you'll only be able to catch basic fish.
- If you're unable to fish, you may also find Tiger Trout at the Traveling Cart, Krobus' shop on Wednesdays, or gifted by a pet cat with max friendship.
- You can purchase Magic Bait from Qi to catch Tiger Trout in any weather, time, and season.

Use Tiger Trout to make recipes. You can cook a total of three recipes with Tiger Trout, though any fish will work:
- Maki Roll
- Quality Fertilizer
- Sashimi
This works as a liked gift for Willy or neutral gifts for Demetrius, Elliott, Leo, Linus, Pam, and Sebastian.

You can use Tiger Trout to make a Fish Shirt. You can use the Sewing Machine in Emily's and Haley's house along with some Cloth.
- Tiger Trout can also be used as an orange dye.

Tiger Trout can be placed in a Fish Pond. The only output from this pond is dark brown Tiger Trout Roe.
- Unlike other fish, Tiger Trout can't reproduce, so you'll need to catch and add all 10 fish to the pond.
During Fall or Winter, Willy will randomly ask for 1-4 Tiger Trout at the "Help Wanted" board outside of Pierre's store. Demetrius may also request 10 Tiger Trout via the Special Orders board near the Lewis' house.
