In Stardew Valley, cloth is used to tailor clothing, craft, building, and more. The easiest way to get lots of cloth is to shear a Rabbit or Sheep and place the Wool into a Loom. Here's how to get Cloth in Stardew Valley.
Things You Should Know
Steps
Getting Cloth
-
Raise adult Sheep and/or Rabbits. A baby sheep matures after four (4) consecutive days of being fed. A baby rabbit matures after six (6) consecutive days of being fed.[3]
- Be sure to interact with your animals daily to keep their happiness up.
- While processing Wool in a Loom is the most reliable way to get Cloth, you can also:
-
Collect Wool. To make Cloth, you must have Wool. Adult Sheep can be sheared for Wool every three (3) days, and adult Rabbits drop Wool automatically every four (4) days.[7] [8]
- Shears can be purchased from Marnie's Ranch for 1000g.
- If you have the Shepherd profession, Sheep will produce wool much faster.

Craft a Loom. You must have Farming Level 7 to get the recipe, and 60 Wood, 30 Fiber, and 1 Pine Tar to craft it.
- Similar to Maple Syrup Oak Resin, Pine Tar can be obtained by tapping a Pine Tree.
-
Place the Wool in the Loom. The Cloth will take four (4) in-game hours to process. When it's finished, you'll see the Cloth icon above the Loom.
- If you have Silver, Gold, or Iridium Wool, you have a 10/25/50% chance to collect two Cloth.
- Consider crafting multiple Looms if you have a lot of Wool to process.
Equipping Clothes
-
Open your inventory. You should see the clothes you want to equip in your normal inventory.
- At the bottom, you'll see your character along with the equipment slots.
-
Drag the item into the equipment slot. Make sure you use the correct slot.
- For example, drag a new shirt into the shirt equipment slot.
- The new clothing will be equipped.
