Things You Should Know

  • Place your Sturgeon Roe in a Preserves Jar and allow it to process for 4 in-game days to get Caviar.

    • If you can access Qi's Walnut Room, you can buy Magic Bait that allows you to catch any fish regardless of the weather, time, or season. You can purchase Magic Bait for 5 Qi Gems, as well as the recipe for Magic Bait for 20 Qi Gems.[3]
  2. Sturgeon can be found during any weather, though you're most likely to find one on rainy Summer days.[4]
    • Try casting further from shore for a better chance of catching a Sturgeon.
    • You can also catch a Sturgeon on the Wilderness Farm during Summer and Winter.
    • Sturgeon will randomly appear in Krobus's shop on Wednesdays for 200 gold or in the Traveling Cart for 600 to 1,000 gold.[5]
  3. To collect Roe, you must place your Sturgeon in a Fish Pond. Sturgeon Roe is the only item that your Sturgeon can produce. You can differentiate Sturgeon Roe from other Roe as it's black in color.[6]
    • You can initially place up to 1 Sturgeon in your pond, but if you complete 4 quests, you can increase the pond capacity to 10. Sturgeon will reproduce once every 4 days.
