Heatran is a powerful Fire/Steel legendary Pokémon that first appears in Pokémon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. It appears in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, and there is a way to catch it.

Steps

Download Article

You have to beat the Elite 4 and Champion before you can catch Heatran.
The Magma Stone is located on a cliff on Route 18. You need a Pokémon with Surf to get there.

Reversal Mountain is located east of Undella Town.
There will be a room above him; go into it. If you have already beaten him, you can talk to him to have him heal your Pokémon.
Heatran will appear; talk to it to battle it.

You have to save right next to the Heatran and battle it. If it's not a shiny, then load the game again and battle it. Just repeat this until you get a shiny Heatran. If it's shiny, it will be a different color palette and will sparkle.

Stock up on plenty of Ultra Balls, Dusk Balls, and Timer Balls. Dusk Balls are useful for Pokémon in caves, while Timer Balls are useful if the battle goes on for a long time.

Heatran is level 68, so make sure you have Pokémon of at least that level.

Have Pokémon with moves that inflict status effects such as Sleep and Paralysis. Status effects will make it easier to catch it.
