All About Pokémon
The first Pokémon game was released in 1996 for the newly introduced Nintendo Game Boy console. Japanese game designer Satoshi Tajiri was inspired by his childhood hobby of collecting insects, as well as his love of anime.[1]
There are 1,025 Pokémon in total, organized into 18 different types: Normal, Fire, Water, Grass, Bug, Electric, Flying, Dragon, Poison, Fighting, Rock, Ground, Steel, Ice, Fairy, Psychic, Dark, and Ghost.
