Do you want to turn off Facebook's access to your phone contacts? Before you can fully delete contacts from Facebook, you'll need to turn off "continuous contact uploading". Luckily, this will only take a few steps. Here's how to unsync contacts from Facebook using your computer, iPhone, iPad, and Android phone or tablet.

Quick Steps

1. Open Settings & privacy and select Settings.
2. Tap Accounts Center.
3. Tap Your information and permissions.
4. Tap Upload contacts and select your account.
5. Toggle off Upload contacts.
6. Tap Learn More to delete synced contacts.

   Open the Facebook app. This feature can only be disabled using the mobile app. If you aren't already logged into your account, do so now.

   • Once this feature is disabled, you can delete your uploaded contacts using the app or website.
   • If needed, you can also remove your phone number from your Facebook account.

   • Keep in mind that un-syncing contacts from Facebook will not remove any friends from your Facebook friends list. You'll need to unfriend them to remove them.

Troubleshooting

   Restart the Facebook app. If you can't delete your contacts using the methods above, you may need to restart the app to fix minor software bugs. Close the app completely, and then try deleting contacts again.

   Log out and log back in again. A simple relog can fix errors with your account. Log out by tapping your profile picture and selecting Log out. Then, sign in to your Facebook account again.

   Contact Facebook. If you still can't get your contacts to unsync from your Facebook account, you'll need to contact Facebook to remove it, since this is likely a bug on their end.
