Turn off saved mobile number and synced contacts on Instagram

Do you want to unlink your phone number from Instagram? If you don't want people to add you as a friend through your number or if you want to prevent others from finding you, you can easily remove your phone number from your account. This must be done in a few ways, but don't worry; it's all fairly quick. Here's how to remove a phone number from Instagram using your iPhone, iPad, Android, or computer.

Deleting Synced Contacts

    Disable contacts syncing on the Instagram app. Before you can delete all your synced contacts, you must first disable contacts syncing on all devices logged into the Instagram app.[3] Do the following:
    • Open the Instagram app on your mobile device(s).
    • Tap your profile icon in the bottom-right corner.

    • Tap Accounts Center.
    • Tap Your Information and Permissions.
    • Tap Upload Contacts.
