Like all Pokémon games, Pokémon Legends: Arceus introduced a number of new Pokémon. One of these new Pokémon is Sneasler, a new evolution of Sneasel, that you can only get in the Hisui region. Better yet, you can also get the original Sneasel and evolve it into Weavile as well! In this article we'll go over how you can get each form of Sneasel and how to evolve it into Sneasler or Weavile.

Things You Should Know

  • Hisuian Sneasel can be found in various spots around Hisui, but Johtonian Sneasel can only be found in Space-time distortions.
  • Hisuian Sneasel evolves holding a Razor Claw if you level it once during the day.
  • Johtonian Sneasel evolves holding a Razor Claw if you level it once during the night.

  1. Pokémon Legends: Arceus introduced a new Hisuian variant of Sneasel. Hisuian Sneasel evolves into another new Pokémon named Sneasler. As such, Hisuian Sneasel is pretty simple to find in Hisui.
    • Hisuian Sneasel can be caught in Celestica Trail, Primeval Grotto, Avalugg's Legacy, and Glacier Terrace.[1]
  2. Razor Claw is an item that Sneasel needs to evolve. Razor Claws can be found a few places in Hisui:[2]
    • From the Jubilife Village Trading Post for 1,400 Merit Points
    • Randomly available in Ginter's shop in Jubilife Village (called "Mystery Claw")
    • In Space-time distortions

  3. You can give your Sneasel the Razor Claw like any other evolution item.
  4. You can level your Sneasel using battle experience, Rare Candy, or EXP Candy. Daytime in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is from 11:00 a.m. to 4:59 p.m.[3] After leveling up your Sneasel during the day, it will evolve into Sneasler.
    • If it's not daytime in your game, go to camp and rest until midday. This will progress the day/night cycle to 11:00 a.m.

Johtonian Sneasel

  1. While Pokémon Legends: Arceus has a new Sneasel form, you can still catch the original (a.k.a. Johtonian) Sneasel and evolve it into Weavile. Johtonian Sneasel is a rare spawn in Space-time distortions in the Obsidian Fieldlands.[4]
    • Space-time distortions have a higher chance of spawning the longer you spend in an area. To get a Space-time distortion to spawn in the Obsidian Fieldlands, you'll need to be in the area for a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 40 minutes before a Space-time distortion spawns.
    • If you're in a menu, pop-up dialogue, or a wild Pokémon battle, the timer for the distortion to spawn will pause. You also cannot rest at a base camp as this will reset the spawn timer.
  2. Razor Claw is an item that Sneasel needs to evolve. Razor Claws can be found a few places in Hisui:[5]
    • From the Jubilife Village Trading Post for 1,400 Merit Points
    • Randomly available in Ginter's shop in Jubilife Village (called "Mystery Claw")
    • In Space-time distortions
  3. You can give your Sneasel the Razor Claw as an evolution item.
  4. You can level your Sneasel using battle experience, Rare Candy, or EXP Candy. Nighttime in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is from 8:00 p.m. to 3:59 a.m.[6] After leveling up your Sneasel at night, it will evolve into Weavile.
    • If it's not nighttime in your game, go to camp and rest until nightfall. This will progress the day/night cycle to 8:00 p.m.
