Are you getting too many notifications from your friends on Snapchat? To stop the "Shared a Snap with you" alert, you can easily mute the user. To stop other alerts, such as Story Posts and Mentions, you can change your notification settings. Here's how to change who you get Snapchat notifications from using your iPhone, iPad, or Android.

Why do I get notifications when someone adds to their Story?

  1. Even if you have every other Snapchat notification turned off, if you are still receiving notifications that someone has posted on their Story, notifications for that user are still enabled. This setting is separate from the other notifications, so you may have missed it.
    • To turn off notifications for a specific user, do the following:
      • Tap your profile icon and select Settings (the cog icon).
      • Tap Notifications.
      • Scroll all the way down and tap Manage Story Notifications.
      • Select the user to stop their Story notifications.
    • If you continue to receive Story notifications in Snapchat, you can choose to silence all Snapchat notifications instead.
      • On iPhone: Open the Settings app and tap Apps. Go to Snapchat > Notifications and toggle off Allow Notifications.
      • On Android: Open the Settings app and tap Notifications. Go to App Notifications > Snapchat and then toggle off notifications.
