Do you want to customize your notification sounds on Snapchat? If you have Snapchat+, you can change the tone settings in the app itself. If you don't, you can still customize the sound notifications for Snapchat through your phone's system settings. This wikiHow will show you how to change your Snapchat notification sounds using your iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

Quick Steps

Tap the Chat tab.
Tap and hold a user's name.
Tap Chat settings.
Tap Notification Sounds.
Select a new sound.
Tap Set Notification Sound.

Using the Snapchat App

Tap the Chat icon. This is the text box icon on the bottom toolbar, to the left of the camera. You'll see a list of all your recently messaged friends.
- You must be a Snapchat+ subscriber to apply exclusive notification sounds to specific friends or groups. If you do not have Snapchat+, you won't be able to change the notification sounds using the app.^{[1]

Tap and hold on a friend's name or group. A pop-up menu will open.^{[2]

Open the Settings
app on your iPhone or iPad. This is the grey cog icon.

If this is already enabled, skip this step.
This is in the Alerts section, under Banner Style.
If you don't like any of the tones, you can tap Tone Store to purchase and download new tones.

Tap < Back. This will save your tone settings.
- When you receive Snapchat notifications on your iOS device, you will hear this new tone as long as your device isn't on silent mode.
- You may need to restart the Snapchat app for it to take effect.

- This method will change your Snapchat notification sounds through your device's settings without changing the sounds for other apps.

Sign up for Snapchat+. If you're trying to customize the notification sounds directly on Snapchat, you must be a Snapchat+ subscriber. Currently, there's no way for basic users to change the sound within the app.

Check your sound settings. If you applied a new sound using your device settings and aren't hearing it, make sure you have your volume on. Also, make sure you don't have any silencing modes enabled, such as Do Not Disturb or another Focus mode.
