This can be a problem if you misplace your device or sell it without formatting it first. Luckily, you can log out of Messenger remotely using any device, and even sign out everywhere you're signed in at once. This wikiHow article will teach you how to log out of Messenger from any computer, Android, iPhone, or iPad.

  1. Open the Messenger app.
  2. Tap the menu icon () with 3 horizontal lines.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Tap Meta Accounts Center.
  5. Tap Password and security followed by Where you're logged in at.
  6. Scroll down and tap Select devices to log out.
  7. Select the device(s) you want to log out of and tap Log Out.

  1. Open the Messenger app on your Android, iPhone, or iPad. If you're signed in to Facebook Messenger or Facebook on another device, you can log out remotely using the Messenger app on your phone or tablet.
    • Make sure you are signed in to Messenger using the account you want to log out remotely.
    • This process will also log you out of Facebook on the devices you select.
  2. You'll see this three-lined menu icon in the lower right corner on an Android, or the upper-left corner on an iPhone or iPad.[1]

  3. It's next to an icon of a gear. This will expand another menu down.[2]
  4. It's the large box at the bottom of the menu. This opens an area where you can adjust your Meta account settings, as well as log out from remote devices.
  5. It's next to an icon that looks like a shield. It should be the third option below "Account settings."
  6. This displays a list of Meta accounts you are signed into (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, Threads).
  7. If you have more than one Meta account, tap the Facebook account you want to log out from. This will display a list of all devices you are logged into using that account.

  8. It's the red text at the bottom of the page.
  9. Tap the checkboxes next to each device you want to log out from. If you want to log out from Messenger everywhere, tap Select all at the top to select all devices at once.

  1. Go to https://www.facebook.com in a web browser. You can use any web browser on your computer. If you left yourself logged in to Messenger on another device (like on a school or work computer or a friend's phone), you can sign out of that session with this method.
    • If you aren't signed into Facebook automatically, use the username and password associated with your Facebook account to log in.
  2. This expands a menu with several options.
  3. It's the second option below your various profiles. Another menu will expand.
  4. It's next to an icon that resembles a gear. It's the first option at the top of the Settings & privacy menu.
  5. It's the large box at the top of the left panel. This opens Accounts Center, where you can manage all your Meta accounts.
  6. This is the first option under "Account settings" in the left panel.
  7. It's the first option below "Security checks." This displays a list of your various Meta accounts (I.e., Facebook, Instagram, Threads).
  8. If you have more than one Meta account, click your Facebook account. This will display a list of devices you are logged in to.
