Bing is Microsoft’s search engine, similar to Google and Yahoo. One of the unique features that sets Bing apart from the others is that, every now and then, it features an awesome background image that can capture people’s attention. These images, however, can’t be easily downloaded and saved to your computer. Still, if you’ve seen a Bing background that looks so fantastic that you want to have a copy of it, it can be done.
Saving the Bing Daily Background
Right-click anywhere on the background. You can then choose Inspect element or Page source. If you choose to inspect, open the Application tab, find the "Images" heading in the sidebar, and locate the image. If you choose to view the page source, search for the term "jpg" twice, then click the link.
Steps
-
Visit the Bing website. Open a web browser (any browser, like Google Chrome or Firefox, will do), and go to bing.com.
- Once the page loads, you’ll immediately see the search bar and the background image.
-
Right-click anywhere on the background image. This will bring out the context menu.Advertisement
-
Select Inspect Element or Inspect from the menu. Your browser’s Developer Tools will appear at the bottom of the screen.[1]
-
Click the Application tab on the Developer Tools screen. It's located in the top panel of the screen. You may have to click the arrow button to see the option. You should see a folder directory on the left-hand side panel.
-
Expand the top folder inside the "Frames" heading. It's at the bottom of the sidebar.
-
Expand the Image folder. Here, you should see the file name of the background image you want to save. There will likely be a lot of images, so you'll need to click through them all to find the right one.
-
Open the image in a new browser tab. To do this, right-click or control-click the file name of the background image and select Open link in a new tab.
-
View the image on your computer’s image-viewing app. Open your computer's Downloads folder. This will display all the files you’ve saved from the Internet to your computer. Double-click the image you saved to view a larger version.
