Did your friend send you a picture in Facebook Messenger? It's easy to save photos to your computer. Here's how to save pictures on Facebook Messenger using a computer.

Downloading Pictures from Facebook Messenger

Click the Messenger icon and select "See all in Messenger." Click the chat, click "i" next to the user's name, select "Media," and click a picture. Click the download icon, right-click the image, select "Save image as," and choose where to save it.

Go to https://www.facebook.com in a web browser. Facebook will open up to your News Feed.
- If you aren't automatically logged into Facebook on your browser, log in with your email or phone and your password.

Click Media. You'll see this in the right panel. This will open a new page with all media (photos and videos) sent between you and the recipient.
- If you don't see "Media," click Media, files and links in the right panel first.

Select a save location and click Save. This saves the selected picture to the folder you select.
- If you can't download images from Messenger, the person you are chatting with may have privacy controls to prevent you from downloading their sent images. You can take a screenshot, but they may get a notification that you have done so.

How do I save multiple pictures in one message? They only seem to save individually.

Yes, it looks like you can only save them individually. But once you have them on your desktop, you should be able to do whatever you wish with them, such as attach them to an email or repost to Facebook. What are you trying to do with them? I was sent photos that I will then put into a newsletter, so having them as individual photos is fine. You can drag them (or cut and paste) from your downloads folder to wherever you would like to put them on your desktop.

Since last week (4/15/2020) can't find downloaded pics from FB Messenger (on either of my PCs). Where are they being downloaded to?

After you click the download icon, you're prompted to select a destination for the file. You can save another image to see what folder opens by default, but if that doesn't work for you, check the "Downloads" folder in your file explorer.
