  1. Ultra Rare cards are most notable for their full art and their holographic golden background. There are usually only 1-3 Crown Rare cards released each expansion, and they have a low chance of appearing when you open boosters, making them the rarest cards in the game.[1]
    • Rarity Symbol: Crown
    • Example Cards: Charizard EX, Pikachu EX, Mewtwo EX, Ho-Oh EX, Lugia EX, Mantyke
  2. Immersive Rare cards have alternate art and black borders around the edges. When you press and hold your finger on an Immersive Rare card, you get transported into the world of the card to see new backgrounds and animations.[2] There are only a couple of Immersive Rare cards in each set, so they’re more difficult to find.
    • Rarity Symbol: 3 stars
    • Example Cards: Suicune EX, Eevee EX, Buzzwole EX, Celebi EX, Guzma

  3. Shiny Super Rare cards have art that takes up the entire card, and the Pokémon featured has its shiny color scheme. Shiny Pokémon cards were only recently added to TCG Pocket, so there are only a handful of these rare cards in the game.
    • Rarity Symbol: Two 8-pointed rainbow stars
    • Example Cards: Beedrill EX, Wugtrio EX, Lucario EX, Arcanine EX, Paldean Clodsire EX
  4. The Pokémon and Supporters on Super Rares fill the entire card and usually have multicolored holographic backgrounds. Special Art Rares are the same rarity, but they feature alternate art scenes and a rainbow border, so they look truly unique.
    • Rarity Symbol: 2 stars
    • Example Cards: Gengar EX, Machamp EX, Giovanni, Umbreon EX, Entei EX
  5. Just like shiny Pokémon in the games, Shiny cards in TCG Pocket feature Pokémon with alternate color schemes. While the standard Shinies are more common than Super Rares, they still don’t appear in packs that frequently.[3]
    • Rarity Symbol: 8-pointed rainbow star
    • Example Cards: Wiglett, Eevee, Gyarados, Paldean Wooper
  6. Even though Art Rare cards have the same text as their Common counterparts, they feature a multicolored border and an alternate illustration. Only a handful of cards get selected to have Art Rare variants, so they’re really desirable for your collection.[4]
    • Rarity Symbol: 1 star
    • Example Cards: Houndoom, Sudowoodo, Lapras, Latios, Scizor, Ampharos
  7. Double Rare cards tend to be EX Pokémon that have illustrations breaking out of the standard frame. Even though these cards are more common than others, there is a smaller chance you’ll pull them from a normal pack.
    • Rarity Symbol: 4 diamonds
    • Example Cards: Venusaur EX, Zapdos EX, Wigglytuff EX, Jumpluff EX, Raikou EX
  8. Promo cards are only released during limited-time events that run in Pokémon TCG Pocket. You usually earn promo cards by completing solo battle challenges, and they have different art and attacks than standard cards. Once an event ends, there’s no other way to get the cards, so make sure you collect them while you can![5]
    • Rarity Symbol: no symbol
    • Example Cards: Zoroark, Blissey EX, Cresselia EX, Rayquaza EX, Latias

    • Wonder Pick tokens replenish every 12 hours, but you can spend Wonder Hourglasses to reduce your wait time.
