Perhaps you want to take a break from Tinder. Maybe you found someone, or you're just tired of dead-end conversations. But if you delete your account, won't you lose all your matches and conversations? While you can no longer use the "pause" feature to close your Tinder account temporarily, there are still other ways to hide your profile for as long as you need to–you can hide your Tinder profile, or, if you have Tinder Plus, you can go incognito so nobody will know you're using the app. Keep reading to learn ways to pause your Tinder account.

Hiding Your Tinder Account

It's the icon that resembles a person in the lower-right corner of the Tinder app. Hiding your account will prevent your profile from appearing in the card stack, and you will not be able to swipe on any other profiles. However, you will still be able to continue conversations you have going, and users who have liked your profile will be able to view your profile and match with you.[1]
    • Cancel any subscriptions you might have. If you subscribe to Tinder Plus, Gold, or Platinum, you will want to cancel it before you continue. Hiding your account does not automatically cancel your subscriptions. You can cancel your subscription in the Tinder app or through your subscriptions in the Google Play Store on Android or the Settings app on iPhone.

Using Incognito Mode

  1. Incognito Mode is a feature available to Tinder Plus members and above. It will hide your account from anyone you do not swipe right on first. This means you get to choose who views your profile.[3]

Deleting Your Account

  1. If you don't want to hide your account or don't want to sign up for a Tinder subscription, you'll have to delete it if you don't want to appear to other people on Tinder.
    • Remember to cancel Tinder subscriptions. If you subscribe to Tinder Plus, Gold, or Platinum, you will want to cancel it before you continue. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscriptions.[5] You can cancel your subscription in the Tinder app or through your subscriptions in the Google Play Store on Android or the Settings app on iPhone.
