Have you noticed that you're not getting as many matches on Tinder as you used to and think you need to reset your account? Tinder doesn't rely as much on the Elo score as it used to when making matches.^{[1]

Just be aware that resetting your account too quickly or too often is, in fact, a good way to get yourself shadowbanned! This wikiHow article shows you how to reset your Tinder account safely (i.e., a "hard reset") and gives you tips to get better and more matches.

Safely Reset Your Tinder Account

Deleting your account and uninstalling the app is the only way to reset your Tinder account. Resetting your Tinder account repeatedly is a good way to get shadowbanned, but using "hard resets" (the process described here) is less likely to result in a shadowban. The best way to reset a Tinder account is by waiting 92 days after you delete it before making a new account.

Resetting If You Log in with Facebook

Delete your account. Open Tinder and go to "Settings" then click Delete My Account at the bottom of the page.
- Use this method to reset your Tinder account if you use Facebook to log in. You can do these steps on either an iPhone or Android.
- The safest and best way to reset your Tinder account is to wait 3 months or 92 days after deleting your account and making a new one.
- If you do this too quickly (within 24 hours) or too often, Tinder will flag your account as spam or a bot and might shadowban your account temporarily or completely ban you.
- In order for a complete reset to work, you'll need new information, like a new email account, a new Google Play Store account or Apple ID, a new phone number, and a new IP address.

Uninstall Tinder. The right way to uninstall the app depends on what kind of device you're using.
- On an iPhone: Tap and hold the Tinder app icon and then tap Remove App.
- On an Android: Open Google Play Store and tap your profile icon. Tap Manage apps & device > Manage. Select Tinder and tap Uninstall.

Open Facebook and log into the account linked with Tinder. Tap the Facebook app icon to open it.
- The goal here is to disconnect Facebook and Tinder so it doesn't use the same data when you install the app again.
Tap your profile picture or the three-line menu icon, then tap Settings & privacy > Settings.
You'll see it under the "Your information" header next to an icon of a cube.

Tap the Tinder result and select Remove. If you don't see Tinder immediately, you may need to scroll down and tap See more.
- Tap Remove in the pop-up to confirm your choice.

Create a new Facebook account with another email address. You want to create a new Facebook account so when you log into Tinder again, your previous information isn't refreshed in the app.
- If you want to be really safe, reset your phone or get a new one before continuing.
- If you're using the same internet connection that you had when you uninstalled the app, such as your home network that hasn't been restarted, restart your router now to get a new IP address.

Reinstall Tinder. If you intend on signing up again with Tinder Plus or Tinder Gold, you'll need a new Google Play account or Apple ID.
- If you're using a new Google Play account, create a new Google account then switch to that account in Google Play.
- If you're using an Apple ID, create your new Apple ID and use it to re-install the app.

Open Tinder and log in using your new Facebook account. If you use your previous Facebook account, all your previous data will be restored, ruining your chances of making a new Tinder account.

Enter your phone number and verify it. Once your phone number has been verified, you can continue creating a new profile.
- Don't use the same pics or text from your previous profile as it might be flagged by the Tinder algorithm.
