- If you are using an iPhone and the person you're trying to reach also has an iPhone, you can send a voice message through iMessage.
If you know the recipient is busy or may have Do Not Disturb enabled, this is a good time to call without worrying about the other person answering. They may not be able to answer on time, and you can access their voicemail freely.
Dial another number (such as your home phone), and then dial the actual recipient's number after. This will place two calls at once. When the second number sends you to voicemail, cancel the first number.
If you have another phone number, such as one from a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) like Google Voice, you can try calling the recipient from there. If the recipient is unfamiliar with that phone number, they may ignore your call or send you straight to voicemail.
