The Void Heart Charm can be unlocked after receiving the Kingsoul Charm from the two White Fragments.
Equip the Kingsoul Charm and descend the unlocked area in the Abyss. Use the Awoken Dream Nail on the egg found at the end.

What is the Void Heart Charm?

In Hollow Knight, the Void Heart is a Charm that can be equipped. This Charm can cause certain enemies to become passive, such as Siblings, Void Tendrils, and the Shade. Because it plays a massive role in unlocking another ending for the game, it's recommended to complete the first playthrough normally before obtaining.
- The Void Heart Charm is different from the Voidheart Edition, which is Hollow Knight's release for the PS4 and Xbox One.

You must have 1800 Essence to do so. This will upgrade the Dream Nail into the Awoken Dream Nail.^{[1]

Obtain the Kingsoul Charm. This Charm is obtained after getting both White Fragments from the White Lady in the Queen's Garden and the Pale King from the White Palace. When these fragments are obtained, it will automatically create the Kingsoul Charm.^{[2]

- It's recommended to defeat the Hollow Knight normally to get the first ending of the game before you proceed.
The Abyss is located in the lowest part of Hallownest, below Ancient Basin. A new area will be unlocked called the Birthplace.
Be sure to avoid any enemies and environmental danger. At the end of the maze, there will be an egg.
A memory will be revealed, and the Kingsoul Charm will change into the Void Heart.
