  1. You must have Foraging Level 3 to unlock the crafting recipe. Use 40 Wood and 2 Copper Bars to craft a Tapper.[3]
    • Tapping a Maple Tree is the most reliable way to get Maple Syrup. However, you may also get Maple Syrup from processing Hardwood in a Wood Chipper (0.66% chance).
  2. There are four types of regular trees that can be found around the town and your farm. The Maple Tree's silhouette looks like an oval with green leaves in the Spring, teal leaves with yellow dots in the Summer, and red-purple leaves in the Fall.[4]
    • The Maple Tree looks similar to the Oak Tree, but Maple Trees have more visible branches underneath its leaves.

  3. When the Maple Syrup is finished, you'll see the icon above the Tapper. It looks like an orange bottle with a stripe in the middle.[5]
    • Once collected, you can leave the Tapper on the tree to produce more Maple Syrup. Make sure to collect it when it's finished for a steady supply.
    • If you need a lot of Maple Syrup, consider crafting more Tappers to tap multiple trees at once.

  1. The Community Center. Maple Syrup is used in two of the Community Center Bundles: the Chef's Bundle on the Bulletin Board and the Exotic Foraging Bundle in the Crafts Room.[6]
  2. Maple Syrup can be sold for 200g. If you have the Tapper profession, you can earn 25% more gold (250g).
  3. You can use Maple Syrup to cook the Maple Bar. This recipe is obtained from The Queen of Sauce (14 Summer, Year 2).[7]
    • To make a Maple Bar, you'll need 1 Maple Syrup, 1 Sugar, and 1 Wheat Flour.
  4. At Farming Level 8, Maple Syrup can be used to craft the Bee House. This can be placed on the farm to make honey.
    • Bee House: 40 Wood, 8 Coal, 1 Iron Bar, 1 Maple Syrup
  5. If you have enough friendship hearts with Emily and Haley, you can visit their house to use the sewing machine and dye pots. This allows you to create different clothing and colors.
    • Floppy Beanie: 1 Maple Syrup, 1 Cloth
    • Orange dye: 1 Maple Syrup
  6. Maple Syrup is needed to complete the "Strange Note" quest triggered by reading Secret Note #23.[8]
    • You may also need Maple Syrup for Fish Pond quests.
  7. All villagers except Maru like Maple Syrup as a gift.
