If you've been having a hard time reading stuff on Facebook because the print is too small for your eyes, you'll be glad to know that there's an easy way to enlarge text on Facebook with a simple keystroke. If you don't want to zoom in on your browser, you can change your accessibility settings on your phone or tablet. Here's how to enlarge the text on Facebook using your computer, iPhone, iPad, or Android device.
Increasing Facebook Font Size
Press Ctrl and + (Windows) or ⌘ Cmd and + (Mac) while on Facebook on a computer to enlarge text. If you're using the mobile app, navigate to the accessibility settings on your device to increase your native text size.
Steps
Zooming In on a Computer
-
Sign into Facebook on a web browser. If you're not already signed in, enter your username and password in the allocated text fields in the upper right-hand corner of the web page, and then click “Log in.”
- This method will teach you how to use your browser zoom to make text bigger in Facebook.
- If you are using Safari on a Mac, you can enlarge the text without making everything else on the page bigger. However, in other browsers, zooming will also increase the size of other elements of Facebook, including photos and icons.
- If you don't want to make everything larger and you're using the Chrome browser, you can make the text bigger in Chrome for all websites instead.
- Alternatively, you can use Facebook on your iPhone, iPad, or Android. It's easier to enlarge text on Facebook using your phone or tablet.
-
Press Ctrl++ (PC) or ⌘ Cmd+c at the same time to enlarge text. Keep pressing the plus icon until you reach the desired text size. This will zoom in and make the text larger.
- If you are using Safari on a Mac, you can use ⌥ Option+⌘ Command++ instead to increase just the text size without making everything larger.[1]

- For Mac computers with Safari, you can make the text smaller by pressing ⌥ Option+⌘ Command+-. Keep pressing the negative icon until you reach the desired text size.
Using Google Chrome
-
Click the ⋮ menu in Chrome. If you use Facebook in Chrome on your computer, you can change the font size for the text you see in your web browser. Just keep in mind that this will also increase the text for other websites, not just Facebook.[2]
-
Click Settings. It's near the bottom of the menu.
-
Click Appearance. This is in the left panel.
-
Select a larger size from the "Font" menu. The default is Medium (Recommended). If this makes the text too small, you can try Large or Very Large.[3]
- The text size change will take effect instantly.
Using iPhone or iPad
-
Open the Settings app. This is the grey cog icon.
- If you don't want to use your browser to increase the text size, you can change your font settings directly on your device. Keep in mind that this will change the text for all apps, and that making the text too large may interfere with an app's functionality.[4]
-
Tap Accessibility. You may need to scroll down to find this option.
-
Tap Display & Text Size. This is under the Vision header near the top.
-
Use the slider to select your text size. Drag the slider to the right to increase the text size. You'll see a preview of the text at the top.
-
Check the Facebook app. Open the app to see if the text is an appropriate size for you. If it's too small, return to the Settings app and drag the slider more towards the right.
- The Facebook app may restart as you change the text size.
