A Guide to the Types of Outcasts in Wednesday

  • Psychic: These students at Nevermore Academy can have a wide range of psychic powers, including seeing the future through visions or dreams, communicating with the dead, and mind-reading. Notable psychic characters in Wednesday include Xavier Thorpe, Morticia Addams, and Wednesday Addams herself.[1]
  • Werewolf: Werewolves can shapeshift into large wolves and have wolf-like powers, such as super-strength and a heightened sense of smell. They live in packs, and they’re known for their fierce loyalty and protectiveness. For example, if someone crosses one of Enid’s loved ones, she’s liable to “wolf-out” and transform into her werewolf shape in order to protect them. Notable Nevermore werewolves include Enid Sinclair, Bruno Yuson, and music teacher Isadora Capri.[2]
  • Siren: Sirens are known for their captivating beauty and their gift of song, which allows them to influence and control others. When a siren sings, they can persuade someone to do just about anything. With this in mind, it’s no surprise that the sirens make up one of the most popular cliques at Nevermore Academy! The most notable siren at Nevermore is Bianca Barclay, who serves as the queen bee of the student body.[3]
  • Gorgon: Gorgons’ heads are covered in snakes instead of hair—just like Medusa from Greek mythology. When someone looks directly into the eyes of the snakes, they’re temporarily turned into stone. As a result, gorgons at Nevermore are careful to keep the snakes covered up when others are around, and they even have to avoid looking in the mirror! The most notable gorgon at Nevermore is Ajax Petropolus.[4]
  • Shapeshifter: Shapeshifters have the ability to physically transform into other people, completely taking on their appearance and voice. When a shapeshifter takes on someone else’s form, the transformation is so convincing that it’s impossible to tell the difference! Notable Nevermore shapeshifters include Principal Larissa Weems and Josephine Wilks.[5]
  • DaVinci: DaVincis are known for their heightened creativity and telekinetic powers. They often use their telekinetic abilities to build cool things, like the raven-shaped Founder’s Pyre in the first episode of Wednesday season two.[6]
  • Vanisher: Vanishers have the power to completely disappear, which means they can spy on others without being caught. This is a super valuable skill to have when it comes to solving mysteries or staying in the loop with school gossip. The most notable vanisher at Nevermore is Agnes DeMille, a new character in Wednesday season 2 who is Wednesday Addams’ biggest fan.[7]
