BeReal recently added the “Behind the Scenes” (BTS) feature, which captures a few seconds of footage before your BeReal so friends can peek further into the moment. It’s a simple toggle to turn it on and off, and we’ll show you how to do just that, as well as explain more about the feature.
Disabling BTS on BeReal
Tap the BeReal notification when it’s time to take your BeReal. In the camera, tap the “BTS On” toggle to turn Behind the Scenes (BTS) off, or leave it as-is to keep BTS enabled. There’s currently no way to disable it permanently.
Steps
Disabling Behind the Scenes Before You Take a Photo
-
Tap the BeReal notification when it’s time to take your BeReal. This will launch the BeReal app and open the camera.
-
Tap BTS On to disable BTS. Find this toggle in the top right corner of the camera’s viewfinder. Once tapped, it’ll change to “BTS Off” to confirm the feature is disabled.[1]
- Note that there’s currently no way to permanently disable BTS.
