Do you want to send a message in Discord that keeps changing from text to emoji automatically? For example, when you type a text smiley face :), Discord will automatically change your emoticon into an emoji. To prevent this from happening, turn off Auto-Emoji to make sure your text goes through as you intend! This wikiHow article teaches you how to turn off Auto-Emoji in Discord.

Disabling Automatic Emojis on Discord

Open the Discord app, click the gear icon, go to "Chat", and toggle off "Automatically convert emoticons in your messages to emoji. Changes applied in the mobile app will sync to the desktop app, and vice versa.

Open the Discord app. This looks like Discord's mascot, Wumbus, with a blue-purple background.
- Disabling this feature on the mobile app will also disable it everywhere else you're signed in, such as the desktop app or website.

Tap your profile picture. This is in the bottom-right corner, near You.
- If you don't see the bottom icons, swipe right to exit the chat or server screen.
