    • When you close your account, you'll lose your username and never be able to use it again, all the contents of your library including playlists and followers, as well as your student discount, if you had it, and will not be able to apply it to another account for 12 months.[2]
  2. If you're already logged in, you won't see this step.

If your Spotify account is hacked or you just want a fresh start, resetting Spotify clears out all of your data and lets you start over. Go to the Spotify website and click on 'Log Out Everywhere' to sign out on all devices. Then select 'Reset Your Spotify Password' and follow the steps to create a new password. Once your password is reset, you can log back in with your new password. Resetting removes all of your playlists, followers, and settings, allowing you to rebuild your profile.
