This wikiHow will show you how to open an ETE file with Vumingo's Exam Testing Engine. Note that there is no solution to opening an ETE file for free.

Opening ETE Files in Vumingo

First, download and install the Vumingo Exam Test Engine. You must have an active Vumingo subscription to use the app. Sign in to your Vumingo account when the app is installed, then double-click your ETE file to open it. It should open automatically in Vumingo.

  1. You can download a demo of Vumingo's Exam Test Engine, but it will only let you view the first five questions in the ETE file. In order to view an ETE file in full, you'll need to purchase a subscription to Vumingo's software.
    • Vumingo has two options: lite and full. The lite option has the ability to open ETE files, and costs anywhere from $119.99 (billed quarterly) to $749.99 (billed every 2 years).[1]
    • When installing Vumingo, choose to install just the ETE Player if given the option.
  2. Once you have Vumingo installed and have paid for a subscription, you can open Vumingo and sign in. If you don't have a valid subscription, the Vumingo app won't let you sign in.

  3. Any ETE file on your computer should automatically open in Vumingo. If it doesn't, you can right-click the file and select Open with… then select Vumingo.
    • Use the Vumingo interface to select how many questions you want in your test, or click the Take All Questions button in the upper-left corner of the window to go through all the test questions.

Tips

  • If you know someone who has Vumingo, ask if they can open the ETE file for you. You can also ask if they would allow you to install Vumingo onto your computer, since you can install it on up to two computers per license.
  • If you were sent an ETE file and you don't want to purchase Vumingo, ask the person or company that sent it to you if they can send you the contents of the file in another format (such as a Word Document or PDF).
