In Fisch, one of the fastest ways to make money is to catch fish with mutations. But which mutations are the best, and what do mutations even do? If you want to learn more about mutations in Fisch, keep reading! We go over the mutations system, as well as list all the currently available mutations and attributes.

All About Mutations in Fisch

Mutations are a feature that increase the value of your catches. Some mutations can only be obtained if you use a certain rod, have a certain enchantment, fish in a certain area, or catch fish during a certain event. Other mutations can be caught at any time. Each fish can have up to one mutation.

Mutations Overview

  1. There are currently 70 mutations in Fisch, but more will likely be added. Each mutation has a unique look, and each one will increase the value of the fish caught. Some mutations can only be applied if you use a specific rod, fish in a specific spot, or have a specific enchantment on your rod. Others can only be obtained during specific events.[1]
    • Some mutations can appear when you use any rod or fish in any location, but using a certain rod or fishing in a certain location will increase your chances of getting a fish with that mutation.
    • Each fish can have a maximum of one mutation at a time.
  2. There are currently four attributes in the game: Big, Giant, Shining, and Sparkling. These attributes can stack with each other (for example, a Big Sparkling [fish]) or can stack with mutations (for example, a Shiny Blessed [fish]).[2]
    • Big and Giant are size-based attributes, which means they cannot stack with one another.

  3. The Appraiser is an NPC in Moosewood that can increase or decrease the weight of your fish. Rarely, you can also gain a mutation on your fish after appraisal.[3]
    • Appraisal costs 450C$. You can find the Appraiser NPC near the merchant's shop in Moosewood.
    • If your fish loses enough weight during appraisal and it has the Big or Giant attribute, the attribute could be lost.
    • The following mutations and attributes can be gained from appraisal: Abyssal, Albino, Amber, Big, Darkened, Electric, Festive, Fossilized, Frozen, Giant, Glossy, Greedy, Hexed, Jolly, Lunar, Midas, Mosaic, Mythical, Negative, Scorched, Shiny, Silver, Sparkling, and Translucent.
