Do you want to promote a Telegram group member to Admin status? As long as the user has no account restrictions, you should be able to make anyone admin for your group or channel. We'll also show you what to do when you can't get the invite to work. Here's how to make someone an admin on Telegram using your iPhone, iPad, Android, or computer.

Using an iPhone or iPad

Tap the group you want to manage. You can find this on the Telegram's home page. If you don't see your group, tap the magnifying glass icon to search for it.

Tap Administrators. You can find this next to the green shield icon.
- You'll see a list of all current admins, including the group owner.

Tap Add Admin. This is at the top of the page, under the Channel Admins header.

Tap the person you want to make an admin. This selects that user. If you don't see the user you want to make admin, search for their name in the search field.

Set permissions. Once you select a user, you'll see a list of permissions under the What can this admin do? header. To toggle off a permission, tap the switch so it turns red. To toggle on a permission, tap the switch so it turns green.

Tap Done. It’s at the top-right corner of the screen. The admin is now added.

Long-press on the user you want to make admin. You'll see all members listed below the Notifications setting. A pop-up menu will open.

Set permissions. Once you select a user, you'll see a list of permissions under the What can this admin do? header. To toggle off a permission, tap the switch so it turns red. To toggle on a permission, tap the switch so it turns blue.

Tap the checkmark. This is in the top-right corner. The admin is now added.

Open Telegram. You can use the desktop app or website at https://web.telegram.org on your PC, Mac, or Chromebook.
- If you aren't already logged in, open Telegram on your mobile device. Go to Settings > Devices > Link Desktop Device. Then, scan the QR code on the website to confirm your login.

Click the group you want to manage. This opens the group in the main panel.
- If you don't see your group, enter the name in the search bar.

Click the group’s name. It’s at the top of the group. The right panel will open.

Click the user you want to make admin. You'll see users listed in the right panel, underneath the Notifications setting. A pop-up menu will open.

Set permissions. Once you select a user, you'll see a list of permissions under the What can this admin do? header. To toggle off a permission, click the switch so it turns grey. To toggle on a permission, click the switch so it turns purple.

Click Save. The selected member is now a group admin.
