It really depends on how strong you want the tea, but I would recommend 2 to 2 1/2 handfuls, so maybe a cup of loose tea.

Put water and sugar in a pot in a 1:1 ratio. Bring this to a boil until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture starts to become more syrupy. Pour it into a glass container and let it cool.
  • Question
Why does tea turn cloudy in the refrigerator?
    Community Answer
    Community Answer
Cloudy iced tea could be caused by minerals in the water or by refrigerating it too soon after brewing. If the tea turns murky in the refrigerator, add a cup of boiling water to one quart of tea, it should clear up the cloudiness. Remember, it will also dilute the tea, so add less ice.

Tips

  • Don't add too much sugar or it will overpower the taste of tea, but add enough so your friends won't gag.
  • Another way is not to add sugar but put out a dish of sugar so that your friends can sweeten it to their tastes.
