Did you know that you're no longer restricted to 15 seconds per Instagram Story? You can now upload Stories on Instagram that are up to a minute long! In the past, your longer videos were clipped to 15 seconds, but this is no longer the case. This wikiHow article teaches you how to upload longer videos to Instagram Stories.

Things You Should Know

  • You can now create Instagram Story videos that are 60 seconds long.
  • To share an even longer video, you can upload a Reel and share it to your Story, or create multiple Story posts.
  • Swipe left to open the Story camera and begin recording your 60-second Story.
  1. Tap the app icon with a gradient pink-to-orange background behind a camera lens.
    • In this process, you'll learn how to take a video to share to your Story. You can record up to 60 seconds of video, but if you upload a longer video to a Story, you'll be prompted to clip it. You can, however, upload it as a Reel and then share it to your Story.
  2. Drag your finger left to right on the Instagram Home screen to open the Story camera.[1] Alternatively, tap the + icon at the bottom of your screen and move the menu dial to "Story." You can also tap your profile picture in the top left corner of your screen.
