If you’re a fan of Sketch, or even just video game streamers in general, you’ve probably heard about the rumors around his sexuality, OnlyFans content, and other swirling stories on the internet. But is Sketch actually gay? And where did this all start? We’re here with answers, and also some tips on general internet etiquette to go along with them.

Sketch’s Gay Rumors

Sketch has confirmed that he’s had experiences with other men, but not that he’s definitively gay. He shared that he prefers not to share details about his personal life and that the rumors were difficult for his mental health. Note: It’s never okay to speculate about someone’s gender or sexuality against their wishes.

Is Sketch actually gay?

  1. Sketch has suggested that he’d rather not clarify his sexuality. While Sketch acknowledged that he had relations with men in the past, and that he did in fact make gay content, he hasn’t confirmed that he’s gay. In a stream on July 8, 2024, Sketch said that his behavior was due to “addictions” and life circumstances, but not that he considers himself gay.[1]
    • Later, on a podcast with Logan Paul, Sketch said, “I didn’t have the need to clarify that like an addiction or sexuality or anything, because what was I going to say? ‘I’m not gay,’ what if I say anything else? No one’s gonna believe me. I don’t really care to take that outside. It’s between me and the person.”[2]
    • Keep in mind that having sex with someone of the same gender doesn’t automatically make a person gay. There are many factors that go into someone’s experiences and sexuality, and their identity is up to them to decide.[3]
    • Of course, even if Sketch were gay, it shouldn’t be a big deal. A person’s sexuality is just one part of them, and it’s a part everyone should celebrate.

In 2024, a YouTuber “exposed” an OnlyFans account linked to Sketch. On July 7, the YouTuber, who went by the name “Pocketbook” and has since deleted their channel, posted a video where they alleged that various accounts on OnlyFans, an adult streaming website, belonged to Sketch. The accounts contained explicit gay content involving Sketch, according to the allegations.[4]
    • After, Sketch found himself under scrutiny, and the streamer community was divided, with some attacking Sketch and others coming to his defense.

Sketch addressed the rumors in July 2024. The very next day, Sketch hosted a stream where he confronted the allegations. He said that the person in the OnlyFans videos was in fact himself, and that it was a turbulent period in his life, which may have influenced his actions beyond his sexuality.[5]
    • Sketch said that the situation took a mental toll on him, and that he even considered suicide, but was thankful to his support system, fans, and friends like the streamer Banks, who came to his aid.
    • Other streamers, like xQc, also condemned the “backlash” to Sketch’s past history, telling people to “stop policing everyone.”[6]

  1. Sketch has not said he identifies as trans. In the wake of the OnlyFans incident, some online users have speculated that Sketch may be trans. These rumors are unfounded. What’s more, it’s a huge overstep and violation of someone’s privacy to speculate on their gender identity, let alone their sexuality.
    • As with being gay, being trans also isn’t a big deal or any business of random internet users.
