Minimalism is all about paring down to the basics—no clutter or unnecessary details, just beautiful simplicity. It can be easiest to get started by dressing like a minimalist, with classic pieces in neutral colors. But don't be surprised if you end up applying the aesthetic to your whole home!

Get down to the basics of what you really need. To nail a minimal aesthetic in your home, you have to be willing to really let go of some possessions. Tackle one area at a time, trying to create as many clean, open spaces as possible. Get rid of anything you don't need and sell, donate, or store the rest.^{[1]
