In Pokémon Ruby (as well as Pokémon Sapphire, the alternate version of the game), the Pokéblock Case is the item used to store Pokéblocks you make in the Pokémon Contest Center. You must have the Case before you can start making Pokéblocks, but finding it is easy. Simply go to the Contest Hall in Slateport City and speak to the little girl in red to get it for free.
Things You Should Know
- Beat the gym leader Brawly in Dewford City, then go to Slateport City and talk to the Devon Corp Worker to receive the Devon Goods item.
- Go to the Contest Hall in Slateport City and talk to the girl in red on the left of your screen to receive the Pokéblock Case.
- Make Pokéblocks by blending berries with NPCs ar Slateport City Contest Hall, Verdanturf Town Hall, Fallarbor Town Contest Hall, or Lilycove City Contest Hall.
Steps
-
Beat Gym Leader Brawly. If you're taking the "normal" path through the game (beating the gym leaders in order), the Pokéblock Case doesn't come into play until you beat Brawly and receive the Knuckle Badge. Play through the game normally up to this point.
- For reference, Brawly is the Fighting-type gym leader located in Dewford City.[1] He is the second gym leader you encounter.
-
Go to Slateport City. After beating Brawly, you should receive the "Devon Goods" item from a Devon Corporation worker. You will be instructed you to take the goods to Slateport City. A convenient way to get to Slateport is to take a ride on Mr. Briney's boat (located in Dewford City, the same town as Brawly's gym).
- Before Mr. Briney can give you a ride, you need to rescue his pet Wingull, Peeko. Peeko is held captive by a Team Magma grunt in Rusturf Tunnel. Defeat the grunt to rescue her.[2]

Go to the Contest Hall in Slateport City. This building is to the left of the North entrance to Slateport (the one that leads to Route 110).[3]
-
Talk to the girl in red. Once you enter the Contest Hall, you should notice this girl on your left. Simply talk to her and she will give you the Pokéblock Case — she already has two.
-
Start making Pokéblocks. Pokéblocks are made from blending berries at special locations in the game. There are two ways to do this: with the help of in-game NPCs or with the help of a friend. In Ruby, there are four spots in the game where you can blend berries with the help of NPCs:[4]
- The Slateport City Contest Hall (the same building where you get the Case). There are two blending NPCs here.
- The Verdanturf Town Hall. There is one blending NPC here.
- The Fallarbor Town Contest Hall. There is one blending NPC here.
- The Lilycove City Contest Hall. There are three blending NPCs here.

Tips
-
In Pokémon Emerald, there is no Contest Hall in Slateport City. The little girl who gives you the case is instead found in the Contest Hall in Lilycove City.[5]Thanks
-
In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (the remakes of Ruby and Sapphire), the Pokéblock Case is in the Pokéblock Kit. This is obtained from Lisia after you deliver the Devon Parts and leave Slateport City.[6]Thanks
