If your phone does not come ready to process the 4G signal, there's nothing you can do to make it so. Either the hardware is in the phone, or it isn't. A 3G phone can only go as fast as 3G.

Tips

  • If you're at a crowded event and are having trouble getting cell service, turn off LTE in your settings. Your phone may connect to a slower, but less crowded, 3G or 2G signal.
  • Consult with your wireless service provider to confirm your device’s network speeds if “4G” or “4G LTE” are not available network options. In some cases, your device may still be capable of running 4G LTE speeds even if 4G is not listed.
