A date can be considered bad if you feel uncomfortable, awkward, or bored. If your date talks excessively about themselves or their ex, is disrespectful, on their phone constantly, is rude to you, the waitstaff, or other people, or makes is clear that they're only there for a hookup, that would also be considered a bad date.

When you have a bad date, it's okay to end the date early and make an excuse about why you have to go, like you have other plans or that you need to get back home. Thank them for going on a date with you, but be honest that you didn't feel the connection and that you don't want to keep going out with them. Take a little time for yourself to do something you love so you can boost your mood again. When you've had some time, reflect on what happened that made the date bad and if there's anything you could do differently to have a better date in the future.
