Tips

  • Only send payments to family, friends, or businesses you trust. If you're trying to purchase something from a retailer and getting this message, that merchant may be suspicious and not reputable. You can either use a different payment method or shop somewhere else.[5]
  • If you mark the transaction as "I do not recognize," then future transactions from that source will be declined automatically.[6]
  • Respond to any security notifications. When you receive a suspicious bill or transaction, Cash App can flag it and cancel it. To make sure any further payments from that source go through correctly, go to your Activity tab in the app, tap on the declined transaction, and confirm that you recognize that payment.
