Do you need to bypass Factory Reset Protection (FRP) on your smartphone? Although FRP is extremely convenient to prevent thieves from stealing your Google information or using your phone after taking it, it's also frustrating for users who are trying to get into their phone without the tied Google account. Unfortunately, any bypasses that were available in the past are quickly becoming non-existent as Android improves Factory Reset Protection with newer Android OS versions. Read on to learn more.
Bypassing Factory Reset Protection on Samsung, Pixel & More
The only ways to turn off FRP are to: 1. Use device management software, like in a business or organization, or 2. Sign out of the Google account signed in on the Android at https://myaccount.google.com/device-activity.
Steps
Removing a Google Account from Your Phone
-
Go to https://myaccount.google.com/device-activity. Log in if you need to. Do this before factory resetting your Android to avoid getting the FRP message.
-
Click the arrow next to the device you want to remove. You'll see every Android device that's logged into your Google account, including Android smartphones, Chromebooks, and Chrome browsers.
-
Click Sign out. You'll get a message asking if you mean to sign out.
- Click Sign out again to continue.
- Once the device is no longer under the list in your device activity section, you can factory reset it so someone else can use it again.[3]
