Target accepts Afterpay as a valid payment method. To use Afterpay at Target in person or online, sign up for an Afterpay account and set up the digital Afterpay Card. Add the Afterpay Card to Apple Pay (iOS) or Google Pay (Android).

  1. You can do this in a web browser at www.afterpay.com or with the Afterpay app.[1]
    • Select Sign up to start the creation process.
  2. This is in the bottom-left corner. You may already be on this tab.
  3. Select the tile for Target.
    • You'll be redirected to Target's app or website.
  4. You can use Target's search bar to look for specific items or browse from the featured tiles on the home page. Select Add to Cart to add the items you want to purchase.
  5. This is in the top-right corner of the app and website.
  6. Select a delivery method for your items. Target offers shipping, in-store pickup, and curbside (some locations).
    • Keep in mind you must have 25% of the purchase price available in your account balance for the transaction to be approved.[2]
  7. You'll also be asked to select which installment plan you'd like.
    • You may need to log into your Afterpay account.
    • If you don't see Afterpay, use the next method to add the Afterpay Card to your digital wallet and select Apple Pay or Google Pay to pay instead.
  8. Double-check your delivery or pickup details. Then, select Place your order.
    • Once your transaction finishes, you can find and pay your balance within the Afterpay app.

    • Select Sign up to start the creation process.
  2. This needs to be done in the Afterpay app.[3]
    • Open the Afterpay app.
    • Tap In-Store.
    • Tap Pay in store.
    • Tap Setup the card.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. Do the following:
    • Tap Card.
    • Tap Add to wallet.
    • Enter the verification code if necessary.
    • Tap Next.
    • The card will be added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
  4. Once you're at the check-out lanes at Target, you'll need to open your digital wallet app to pay. This will be Apple Pay (iOS) or Google Pay (Android).
    • Follow the prompt on the card reader to use your digital wallet.
    • Keep in mind you must have 25% of the purchase price available in your account balance for the transaction to be approved.
    • Once your transaction finishes, you can find and pay your balance within the Afterpay app.
