Apply eyeshadow.

Start under your eye to make it look like you haven't slept in 7 days. Use your finger to smudge the eyeshadow around, to blend it in. You don't want to overdo it, as you will look like a druggie! Next, apply to the top. This should only go up to the eyebrow, not any higher. Smudge and blend in as desired.

Apply some lipstick.

Go with pale pink, or, if you would like, a dark red. If you do not want to add any color, your white makeup should cover your lips. (Only the parts where you would apply lip balm or lipstick.)

Paint a bar across your eyes.

Put tape (masking tape) on your face, so that you can see. Add a strip of tape to your forehead (put on as straight as possible ) and then one on your nose. This part takes 3 pieces of tape: apply 1 piece to the bridge of the nose, 1 on the left, and 1 on the right. Try to make them as straight as possible. These pieces will end up making a bar in the middle (where your eyes are). Then, apply red or black face paint in the middle. Once done, remove the tape, there should now be a bar of red or black over your eyes.(See video, a lesson by Gerard Way himself!)

Do your hair.

He’s rocked short white hair, short blond hair, short black hair, long black hair, long red hair. Keep in mind that Gerard also likes to add bits of color in his hair. He adds in stripes of red, lavender, and even green.

Lightly pat dry with a tissue. Once completely dry, try to remove smudges with a dry finger or q-tip first and if necessary, use a very small amount of remover/makeup wipe to the affected area. Let dry then lightly reapply makeup until it is back to normal. If you don’t have anything with you, don’t let it dry. Immediately treat your finger like a sponge and dab the area around what is missing to reblend.

It's about using the right type of brush to get the look you want. If you’re going for a soft, blended look, like a smoky eye, a fluffy blending brush is your best friend. It helps you diffuse the color and create that seamless, smudged effect. On the other hand, if you’re aiming for a more intense, pigmented look, you’ll want a dense, flat brush that packs the color onto your lid. The key is matching the brush to the job. Using a fan or fluffy brush for bold color might leave you disappointed because it spreads the shadow too thinly. Similarly, trying to blend with a dense brush can make things look patchy. When you have the right tools, start with a light base color all over your lid, add a medium shade to your crease for depth, and finish with a darker shade on the outer corners for dimension. And don't forget to blend, smooth transitions are what make eyeshadow look polished.
