How to Remove a Comment on YouTube: Delete & Report Tips

Do you want to erase YouTube comments? You can easily see and delete your own comments by visiting your Comment History page. You can also delete other people's comments if you're the creator of the video. Otherwise, you can report the comment to get it removed. Here's how to delete comments on YouTube using your iPhone, iPad, Android, or computer.

Select the video with the comment.
Select ⋮ next to the comment.

Open the YouTube app on your Android, iPhone, or iPad. If you don't have the YouTube app, you can manage your comments using the website on a mobile or desktop browser.
- Make sure you're logged into the account that made the comments.
You can find this at the bottom-right corner. Your profile page will open.

Tap Your data in YouTube. This is below the Account header.
- A new window will open with your Google activity.
This is the second option in "Your YouTube dashboard". You may need to swipe to see this option.
This will be next to your comment. You'll be redirected to the video with the comment.
It's on the right side of the comment. A pop-up menu will open.
You'll see Delete if you're removing your own comment from a video, or Remove if you're removing another user's comment from your own video. A popup will appear asking to confirm.
The comment will be removed.

Click the video link. This will be next to your comment. You'll be redirected to the video with the comment.

Select Delete or Remove. You'll see Delete if you're removing your own comment from a video, or Remove if you're removing another user's comment from your own video. The comment will be removed.
- On mobile, you'll need to tap DELETE or REMOVE again when prompted.

Go to the comment you want to report. If you find a comment you believe violates YouTube's guidelines, you can report it to YouTube. If they find the comment to be problematic, they will delete it from the video.
- You can search for a video by entering its name in the YouTube search bar. If you're on mobile, tap the magnifying glass icon first.
It's on the right of the comment you wish to remove. A pop-up menu will appear.
A pop-up menu will open with additional options for reporting the comment.

Select an option. Make sure the option you select accurately portrays the comment since you don't want to falsely flag the comment. You have the following options:
- Sexual content
- Violent or repulsive content
- Hateful or abusive content
- Harassment or bullying
- Harmful or dangerous acts
- Misinformation
- Child abuse
- Promotes terrorism
- Spam or misleading

Select Report. It's at the bottom of the pop-up window. Doing so will report the comment to YouTube and hide it from your view.
- Other people will still be able to see the comment until it is deleted by the video's owner or by YouTube.

Can I delete all comments at once?

There's no built-in way to delete every comment you've posted. You'll need to manually delete them from YouTube one by one. However, there may be a workaround: Some users have reported that hiding your channel for a long time (the time varies) can delete your comments and replies. If you want to give this a try, here's what to do:
- To hide your channel, do the following:
  - Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  - Go to Settings > Channel > Advanced Settings.
  - Select Remove YouTube Content at the bottom.
  - Select I want to hide my channel.
  - Check the boxes for everything you want hidden.
  - Select Hide my channel.
  - Unfortunately, nobody seems to know how long your channel will need to remain hidden before the comments are deleted.

That reply to your comment can only be deleted if it is inappropriate, such as including bullying or harassment, hate speech or graphic violence, and more. To report the comment, first, click on the colon symbol on the right (:) then click Report (on Mobile), or Report spam or abuse (on a desktop), then select Report. The YouTube moderation team should soon delete the comment and whoever posted that reply should get punished.
