Want to collect all the available characters in Castle Crashers? You can get a good chunk of characters by defeating the game with the starting knights. You'll also receive characters by beating certain levels, clearing different arenas, and buying DLC packs. Here's how to get all the Castle Crashers characters on your PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch.

All Castle Crashers Character Unlocks

If you defeat the game with each of the four starter characters, you'll receive the Skeleton, Industrialist, Royal Guard, and Fire Demon. If you beat the game again with these four new characters, you'll receive the Bear, Fencer, Saracen, and Ninja. Characters can also be obtained by defeating levels, bosses, and purchasing DLC.

The Red Knight is one of the four starter characters you get in the game for free. By beating the story using the Red Knight, you'll receive the Skeleton. Then, by beating the story using the Skeleton, you'll receive the Bear.^{[1]

The Blue Knight is another starter character in Castle Crashers. If you beat the game using the Blue Knight, you'll receive the Industrialist. Then, if you beat the story using the Industrialist, you'll receive the Fencer.

The Green Knight is the third starter character in Castle Crashers. By beating the game using the Green Knight, you'll receive the Royal Guard. Then, if you beat the game again with the Royal Guard, you'll receive the Saracen character.
The Orange Knight is the final starter character in Castle Crashers. If you beat the game completely using the Orange Knight, you'll receive the Fire Demon. Then, if you beat the game using the Fire Demon, you'll get the Ninja character.

King's Arena = Barbarian = Beekeeper. The King's Arena is the first arena in Castle Crashers. Here, you'll find the Barbarian-type enemy. By defeating this arena, you'll receive the Barbarian character.
- When you defeat the game with the Barbarian, you'll receive the Beekeeper character.

Thieves' Arena = Thief = Snakey. The Thieves' Arena is the second area in the game. You'll see the Thief-type enemy in this area. When you defeat this arena, you'll receive the Thief character.
- When you defeat the game with the Thief, you'll receive the Snakey character.
The Volcano Arena is the third arena in Castle Crashers. You'll find the Conehead-type enemy here. When you defeat this arena, you'll receive the Conehead character.

Peasant Arena = Peasant = Civilian. The Peasant Arena is the fourth arena in the game. You'll see the Snakey-type enemy in this area. When you defeat this arena, you'll receive the Peasant character.
- When you defeat the game using the Peasant, you'll receive the Civilian character.

Icy Arena = Iceskimo = Brute. The Icy Arena is the fifth arena in Castle Crashers and is full of the Iceskimo-type enemy. When you defeat this arena, you'll get the Iceskimo character.
- When you defeat the game using the Iceskimo, you'll receive the Brute.

When you defeat the Barbarian Boss level, you'll receive the Grey Knight character. If you defeat the game with the Grey Knight, you'll get the Stoveface character.
When you defeat the Alien Ship level, you'll receive the Alien character.

Open-Faced Gray Knight. If you beat the Catfish in Insane Mode, you'll receive the Gray Knight character.
- If you have the King Pack DLC on Xbox 360, you'll also receive this character.

King. If you beat Pipistrello's Cave in Insane Mode, you'll receive the King character.
- If you have the King Pack DLC on Xbox 360, you'll also receive this character.

Necromancer. If you beat the Industrial Castle on Insane Mode, you'll get the Necromancer character.
- If you have the Necromantic Pack DLC on Xbox 360, you'll also receive this character.

Cult Minion. If you defeat the Ice Castle on Insane Mode, you'll receive the Cult Minion character.
- If you have the Necromantic Pack DLC on Xbox 360, you'll also receive this character.

If you purchase the Pink Knight Pack DLC, you'll receive the Pink Knight character.
If you purchase the Legend of the Blacksmith Pack DLC, you'll receive the Blacksmith character.

Hatty Hattington. If you purchase the Can't Stop Crying Pack DLC, you'll receive the Hatty Hattington character.
- On Xbox 360, you can earn this character by getting one achievement in BattleBlock Theater.
- If you have the remastered version on Steam, you can get this character by owning both Castle Crashers and BattleBlock Theater on the same account.
- You can also purchase this character in the Insane Store for 1200 gold.
If you purchase the Painter Boss Paradise DLC on PC, you'll receive the Paint Junior character.
