How to Block VNC

VNC enables you to remotely access and control your devices from internal and external networks. It's very helpful when you want to remotely administer a computer. However, there are a few times when you would like to prevent somebody from accessing your computer and/or monitor what you are doing. Luckily, you can block VNC.

Method 1
Method 1 of 4:

Using the local computer firewall. (Windows)

  1. Step 1 Open Windows Firewall with Advance Security.
  2. Step 2 Click on Inbound Rules.

  3. Step 3 Click on New Rule.
  4. Step 4 Under Rule Type, select Ports.
    Click on Next.
  5. Step 5 Select TCP.
    Then enter the ports used by your VNC. Default is 5900 and 5800.
  6. Step 6 Select Block Connection.
    Hit Next all the way to the end of the wizard.

Disable VNC Service

  1. Step 1 Open Services.MSC.
  2. Step 2 Look for VNC Server and hit Properties.
  3. Step 3 Stop the service.
    You may also select Disable service.

Uninstall Completely

Disconnect from the Network

  2. Step 2 Disable NIC.
    Go to Control Panel > Network Settings > Right click on your connection > Disable.
