When is it appropriate to start a baseball chant?

You can start a baseball chant during lull moments (i.e., before or after a pitch). Baseball chants are appropriate at almost any part of the game, but they’re usually reserved for right before or after a pitch is thrown. However, the only time that it’s forbidden to do a chant is during the pitch itself. As soon as the pitcher begins their throwing motion, you must stop your chant and allow the stadium to go quiet during the pitch and hit. Once the hit (or non-hit) happens, you can begin a chant again.^{[8]
