Keep reading, and we’ll cover what Pogs are hot on the market right now and how much they’re worth. If you find some in your collection to sell, antiques expert and appraiser Reyne Hirsch shares her recommendations for where to list them and how to price them.

  1. The Jurassic Park Pogs feature iconic screenshots from the hit film, and include a limited set featuring holographic dinosaurs. Because the movie became a smash hit and the sets were only released as movie promos, they’re harder to find and worth more money.
    • Recent sale price: $2,500 USD[1]

What makes Pogs valuable?

PDF download Download Article
  1. Pogs were pretty common collectibles and were primarily made of cardboard, so a majority of them aren’t worth very much. However, some Pogs are more desirable to collectors
    • Limited or rare releases: Pogs released as promotional items or that were part of a short print run are worth more than commons.
    • Popular Media: Pogs that feature popular characters, movies, or art are more desirable to collectors than lesser-known properties.
    • Condition: Mint-condition Pogs that have smooth edges and are free of dents or rips sell for more money than damaged ones.
    • Slammers: Slammers tend to be more valuable than standard Pogs because they’re made of higher-quality plastic or metal.

Check recent sale prices to determine your selling price. Search for the exact Pogs that you have in your collection on Google or eBay and look for recent sales. Base the price of your Pogs on the recent sales instead of active listings because it’s how much people are actually spending.
