We’ll walk you through the entire process, so you can get your private lobby up and running in no time at all. May the best player win!

Hit the “Multiplayer” option.

Look on the right-hand side of the home page to find a list of game modes. “Multiplayer” is typically the second option down, between “Ranked Match” and “Battle Royale.”^{[1]

Open the menu and set the game to “Private.”

Tap the ≣ Menu button in the top-right corner. The menu button pulls up a vertical list of options, with “Private” being at the very bottom. Hit “Private” to close your game off to strangers so only your friends can join.^{[2]

Switch the game mode to “1v1 Duel.”

Use the “Mode Change” option to make your adjustments. Look for a bright yellow button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen with a
icon on it. Using the horizontal menu that pops up, select the “1v1 Duel” option to create an exclusive face-off for you and your friend.^{[3]

Invite your friend to the game.

Hit the “Invite” panel on the right side of the screen. Any online friends will be highlighted on the panel—just tap their names to send them an invite to your 1v1. Their username and icon pops up in your private multiplayer lobby as soon as they accept the invitation.^{[5]

Tap “Start” to begin the game.
