   • “Venus retrogrades happen every year and a half, and they go on for six weeks at a time,” says Eyedealism. So, if you want to make sure the planet of love is in a good position on your wedding day, make sure to look up the next time Venus will be in retrograde and avoid that date!

   Mercury retrograde Astrologists also recommend that you avoid getting married when Mercury is in retrograde. “This period lasts about three weeks and often brings disruptions in communication,” so “people might experience misunderstandings, broken promises, or issues with signing agreements,” explains astrologer Mechila Blake. This type of energy can bring big problems for weddings, so it’s best to avoid this period for your big day.

   • Eyedealism explains that the energy of Mercury retrograde can bring hurtful things to the surface. “A wife might go through her husband’s phone and find out he’s been messing around, or a husband may find out that his spouse-to-be is a gold digger, and he’ll wish he had a prenup,” she says.
   • On this point, Eyedealism is emphatic: “If anybody gets married during Mercury retrograde, a prenup is essential.”
