Relaxing in the sauna sounds amazing…until you realize you’re not sure what to wear! Is a swimsuit OK? Do you have to be totally nude? We’ve got all the answers you need. In this article, we’ll explain what’s most comfortable and hygienic to wear for men and women, including what accessories you can bring in to make your session more enjoyable. We’ve also highlighted the most important sauna etiquette and hygiene tips to make you look like a sauna pro (even if it’s your first-ever visit).
What do you wear in a sauna?
If the sauna allows nudity, wear a light towel wrapped around your waist or chest or sit nude on top of a towel. If you prefer to cover up, wear a loose and breathable swimsuit, shorts, dress, t-shirt, or tank top made from natural fibers like cotton. Some saunas may also require non-slip footwear like shower shoes.
