Nudge your friends or favorite creators to notify them that you want something
PDF download Download Article

Have you noticed a new feature on TikTok called "nudge"? This feature is available to all users in DMs and profile view history, but is only available to some users via the profile screen. A nudge is similar to Facebook's "poke" and is a simple way to get someone's attention without sending a message. From the profile view, nudging a creator lets them know you want them to go live, and from DMs or the profile view history, nudging lets a friend know you want to chat. Keep reading to learn how to do each type of nudge, as well as how to disable nudges as a creator.

Things You Should Know

  • Click the bell icon on a creator's profile and select the "nudge" option to let the creator know you want them to go live.
  • From the profile view history, you can nudge a friend who has recently viewed your profile to let them know you want to chat.
  • From your DMs, you can nudge a friend to notify them that they haven't replied to your message yet.
