Do you want to stop blocking a phone number or contact on your iPhone? You can unblock multiple numbers from your blocked list at once, or you can unblock contacts individually from apps such as Phone, Messages, and FaceTime. This wikiHow will show you how to remove a number from your blocked list using any iPhone model, including an iPhone 15, iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone SE 2022, iPad, and more.

Unblocking a Contact on iPhone

To unblock a number on your iPhone, open Settings > Apps > Phone. Tap Blocked Contacts to find a list of all your blocked numbers. Tap Edit, and then tap the red circle next to the number you want to unblock. Tap Unblock.

   • Be sure to update your iPhone.
   • You can use this method to easily see all the blocked numbers on your iPhone.

   • You'll see a list of your current blocked numbers.

   • A red circle with a line in the center will appear to the left of the blocked numbers.

   Tap the red circle next to the number you want to unblock. A red Unblock button will appear on the right side of the number.

   • You can now receive messages and phone calls from the number.

   Tap Recents. This will be on the bottom of the screen, between Favorites and Contacts.

   • A new window will open with the contact details.

   • The number will be unblocked. You can now receive messages and phone calls from the number.
   • On the other hand, you can also find out if you are blocked.

   Tap a conversation with the person you want to unblock. You can scroll up and down to find the contact, or you can swipe down on your screen to use the search bar.

   • By default, you'll see a list of recent FaceTime calls.

Can I unblock someone who is not in my contacts?

1. You can unblock any number that has been previously blocked. This applies to numbers you have saved in your Contacts app and those not saved. If you don't have the number saved to your contacts, the easiest way to unblock the number is to use the Settings app, since all blocked numbers will appear in a list.

   • You must know the number to know which one to correctly unblock. If you're unsure and the number contacted you recently, you can narrow down the options by using the Recent tab in the Phone or Messages app instead.
