Sharing Your Netflix Account: Overview

Go to netflix.com or open the Netflix app. Click “Add Profile” and create a profile for the person you want to share with. Send them your Netflix username and password so they can use your account. Basic accounts support one viewer at a time—you must upgrade your subscription to allow more simultaneous viewers.

Open Netflix. This app icon looks like a red "N" that you can find on your home screen, in the app drawer, or by searching.
- Mobile devices include the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, as well as Android phones and tablets.
When you open Netflix, you are presented with the home page on which you'll find recommendations, your list, and what you were watching. You can tap on one of those shows to get to the show's detail page.

You'll see this icon under the summary of the TV show or movie. When you tap the icon, you'll see a list of options for sharing.

Tap a sharing method. When you tap a sharing method like Messenger, that app will open in a message that shares the link to the show's detail page. You need to add a contact to send it to.

Go to https://netflix.com or open the Netflix app. If you're not already signed in to your account, sign in now to continue.
- You can share your Netflix account with up to 5 people, but the type of account you have determines how many profile users can watch at the same time.^{[2]

- Basic accounts (the lowest level) support 1 viewer at a time. A Standard subscription, the next step up, supports up to 2 simultaneous viewers. A Premium subscription allows 4 viewers to watch Netflix on the same account at once.

Click or tap +Add Profile. It'll be on the profile selection screen (the one that says "Who's watching?" at the top).
- If you're using Netflix on a computer and don't see this option, click your profile name or photo at the top-right corner, then click Manage Profiles.

Create a profile for the person you want to share with. The profile you create should have its own unique name and avatar, but the person using it will need to log in to Netflix using your account name and password.
- If the person you're sharing an account with is a child, check the box next to "Kid?" before you continue.

Give your Netflix username and password to the other person. When that person logs in, they'll be able to click or tap their own profile to start viewing movies and TV shows.
