Want to find out how many hours you've spent listening to your favorite songs, artists, and podcasts on Spotify? There are a few ways you can see how much time you spend streaming, even though this stat is not available within the Spotify app itself (other than during December through Spotify Wrapped)! This wikiHow article will teach you five easy ways to find your Spotify listening time.
Note: It's not free to view your advanced lifetime Spotify stats outside of Spotify Wrapped, and all of the other methods to view your Spotify lifetime listening time will cost money.
See Your Total Spotify Listening Time
You can use stats.fm, volt.fm, and trackify.am to see your Spotify listening time, but they aren't free. You can also use last.fm to view your listening time for free, but it will only track the amount of time you've listened to Spotify since you've had last.fm scrobbling enabled.
Steps
-
Download the stats.fm app. Stats.fm gives you information similar to Spotify Wrapped all year round. The catch is that viewing your listening time is not free—you'll need to pay for stats.fm Plus. Fortunately, you'll only have to pay once—after that, you can view your listening time as often as you'd like.
- You can get stats.fm from the App Store or Google Play Store.
- To see your listening time, you'll need to request your listening data from Spotify, which can take up to 30 days (though it's usually quicker than that).
-
2Request your Spotify listening data. To get your listening time, you'll need to request your extended streaming history in a specific format (JSON) from Spotify via email.[1] This listening information is different than what you can request from Spotify's website. Here's the best way to get this information:
- Go to spotify.com/account/privacy/ in a web browser. Sign in if you aren't already.
- Click Copy to clipboard below the email template.
- Scroll all the way down to the bottom.
- Click the check box under "Extended streaming history."
- Uncheck the boxes under "Account data" and "Technical log information" if they are checked.
- Click Request data. It may take up to 30 days for your extended streaming history to be available.
- Click Confirm to confirm the data request.

3Open stats.fm. The first time you open stats.fm, you'll be asked to sign in with your Spotify or Apple Music account. Tap the button to sign in with Spotify, then log in with your Spotify username and password. You may be asked to enter a verification code that was sent to your Spotify email during the login process.
-
4Sign up for stats.fm Plus. In order to import your Spotify data and view all of your stats, you'll need to pay for stats.fm Plus. You can choose to pay every six months, every year, or pay once for lifetime access.
- As of September 2025, stats.fm Plus costs $6.99 for six months, $8.99 for a year, or $20.99 as a one-time purchase for lifetime access.
- If you're new to stats.fm, you will likely get advertised a lower introductory rate, which could lower the lifetime access payment to under $15.
- As of September 2025, stats.fm Plus costs $6.99 for six months, $8.99 for a year, or $20.99 as a one-time purchase for lifetime access.
-
5Enable stream syncing in stats.fm. When Spotify pulls your listening data, it will gather everything from the moment your account was created until around two days before the data is sent to you. Enabling stream syncing manually in stats.fm will ensure that none of your data is lost.[2]
- Open stats.fm.
- Tap on your profile icon in the upper-right corner.
- Tap on the cogwheel button in the upper-right corner.
- Tap on Connections.
- Toggle on "Sync streams" for Spotify.
-
6Download your data when it's ready. Once your data is ready to be downloaded, you'll get an email from Spotify. Click the Download button in the email.
- The file will be in ZIP format. Unzip the file using the file unzipper of your choice.
- The easiest way to submit your data to stats.fm is on your computer. Make sure to download your Spotify data on your desktop or laptop computer.
-
7Import your listening data to stats.fm. The easiest way to do this is on your computer.[3] Here's how to do it:
- Go to stats.fm/import. If you aren't logged in, do so now.
- Drag and drop the .JSON files from your Spotify data onto the webpage.
- Click Upload to start the data upload. It may take a few minutes to a couple of hours for the upload to finish and for your data to process.
-
8Open stats.fm once the data is processed. The app will update you once each .JSON file has been processed.
-
9Tap the stats button at the bottom of the screen. This button looks like a bar graph, and it's the third button from the left.
-
10View your total hours streamed. At the top of the page, you'll see your Spotify account stats, including your total hours streamed. This number is your total listening time on Spotify.
-
Go to last.fm in a web browser. Creating a free last.fm account lets you track your Spotify habits, including your total number of streaming minutes, by "scrobbling" (or tracking) your listens.
- Unfortunately, you won't be able to use last.fm to track your listening time until after you've signed up and enabled scrobbling. This means your past listening time won't be available. However, this is a super easy way to track your listening time going forward.
- You can set up last.fm to scrobble your Spotify plays on a computer, phone, or tablet.
-
Create an account. If you don't have an account, click the SIGN UP link at the top-right corner of the screen to set one up now. If you already have an account, click Log In and enter your username and password to continue.
-
Go to last.fm/about/trackmymusic. This takes you to a page with a bunch of options for tracking your music. You don't have to download the last.fm app to track your listens, so don't click or tap the link to do so.
-
Scroll down and click Connect under "Spotify." You'll see some information about the type of information last.fm needs to be able to view your Spotify account.[4]
-
Click Agree to continue. This will link last.fm to Spotify. Now that the apps are linked, each track you listen to in Spotify will be scrobbled to last.fm, which keeps extensive stats on your listening habits.
- To disconnect last.fm from Spotify at any time, hover your mouse cursor over your profile photo in last.fm (or tap the menu if you're using a phone or tablet), click Settings, select Applications, and click DISCONNECT.
-
Click your profile photo to view your listening stats. If you just set up last.fm, you won't see much just yet—but as you continue to listen over time, you'll get all sorts of listening stats, including your top artists, albums, and tracks.
-
Filter your listening stats by time. Last.fm lets you see your top stats for Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Last 180 days, Last 365 days, and All time. You can also click or tap the gear icon next to any of your stats and change the default stats period so you can see your preferred time period automatically on your profile.
-
1Go to trackify.am. Trackify.am is a site that can show you advanced Spotify data. You can open trackify.am in a web browser (on either your computer or mobile phone), but trackify.am doesn't have an app.
-
2Sign in with your Spotify account. You'll also need to give trackify.am permission to access your Spotify data during the sign-in process.
-
3Click the Plus tab at the top of the screen. Like other Spotify stats apps, trackify.am doesn't give out Spotify listening time stats for free. You'll need to sign up for a monthly trackify.am Plus subscription to see your listening time.
- Unlike other Spotify stats apps, trackify.am only offers one Plus subscription level: $3.99 per month.
-
4Return to your dashboard. Once you've paid for trackify.am Pro, return to your dashboard to see your total listening time. If you still have your dashboard page open, refresh the page.
-
5Click Lifetime. In the upper-right part of the page, you'll see the option to view stats from the last four weeks, six months, or the lifetime of your account. Choose Lifetime to see your total Spotify listening history.
-
6View your listening history stats. At the top of the screen, you'll be able to see your total Spotify listening history. You'll also see other advanced stats about your Spotify account listed at the top of the page.
-
1Go to volt.fm. Volt.fm is a site that shows you advanced Spotify data. You can open volt.fm on your computer or mobile phone's browser, but there is no volt.fm app.
-
2Sign in with your Spotify account. You'll also need to give volt.fm permission to access your Spotify data during the sign-in process.
-
3Click Go To Your Profile. Once you sign in and give volt.fm permission to access your Spotify data, it'll take a few seconds for your profile to get set up. Once it's ready, click the green Go To Your Profile button to continue.
-
4Click Upgrade to Pro. Unfortunately, volt.fm doesn't let you view your listening stats for free. To see how many hours you've listened to Spotify, you'll need to purchase volt.fm Pro.
- Volt.fm Pro costs $2.25 per month (billed $27 annually) or $54 for a lifetime subscription.
-
5Return to your profile. Once you've paid for volt.fm Pro, return to your profile to see your total listening time. If you still have your profile page open, refresh the page.
-
6Click the dropdown above your stats and choose "All time." This will show you all of your Spotify stats, including your total play time. You can also see your average play time per day, as well as your longest listening streak.[5]
-
Go to spotify.com/wrapped in a web browser on your Android, iPhone, or iPad. Every December, Spotify releases the Spotify Wrapped experience—a cool way to visualize your listening activity over the last year.[6]
- You'll need to check out your Wrapped data in December to get the listening data—if you try viewing Spotify Wrapped during another time of the year, you'll only see playlists containing your top artists and songs.
-
See your Spotify Wrapped listening stats. Spotify Wrapped will display your top songs, artists, genres, and listening time for the time period between January 1st and sometime in November of the current year.
- You can tap or swipe through the presentation if you want to skip certain parts.
-
Share your Spotify Wrapped listening stats. You can share any of the individual screens in Spotify Wrapped with friends on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, through text messages, and various other platforms by tapping Share this story at the bottom of the screen.
